1. Trough or Shell
The trough or shell is the main body of the ribbon blender, and it is typically constructed from stainless steel or other materials compatible with the processed products. The U-shaped design allows for efficient mixing and blending of materials.
2. Ribbon Agitator
Ribbon agitator consists of dual helical ribbons that are mounted on a central shaft. The helical ribbons rotate to move the material both radially and laterally witthin the trough, ensuring thorough mixing. The ribbons are commonly made of stainless steel, and they may have coatings or finishes to enhance wear resistance or prevent material buildup.
3. Central Shaft
The central shaft supports and drives the ribbon agitator. It is typically made of stainless steel or other durable materials. The central shaft is connected to the drive mechanism, which provides the rotational motion to the ribbons for mixing.
4. Drive System
The motor provides the power to drive the central shaft and consequently, the ribbon agitator. The drive system may include a gearbox or belt drive to transmit power from the motor the central shaft.
5. Discharge Valve
Adischarge valve is positioned at the bottom of the trough for controlled discharge of the blended material. The discharge valve may be a simple slide gate or a more complex butterfly valve, denpending on the application.
6. Lid or Cover
A lid or cover is provided to secure the contents of the blender during the mixing process. Some models may have hinged or removable lids for easy access during loading and cleaning.
