1. Structure Type

Horizontal Ribbon Mixer : The mixing barrel is placed horizontally, and the ribbon mixer is located on the horizontal axis in the barrel. It is usually suitable for mixing larger batches.

Conical Ribbon Mixer : Its mixing barrel is conical, and the ribbon agitator is located on the axis inside the barrel. It is usually suitable for small batches and fine mixing work.

2. Mixing Effects

Horizontal Ribbon Mixer : Since the mixing barrel is placed horizontally, the force of the mixer is mainly horizontal stirring and shearing. It is suitable for mixing coarse-grained materials, but the mixing effect for powder or fine-grained materials may not be as good as conical ribbon mixer.

Conical Ribbon Mixer : Since the mixing barrel is conical, the force of the agitator is mainly radial and axial mixing, which can mix fine particles or powdery materials more evenly and improve the mixing effect and quality.

3. Process Characteristics

Horizontal Ribbon Mixer : It is suitable for large-volume, low-speed mixing processes. It is simple to operate and can meet general production needs.

Conical Ribbon Mixer : It is suitable for small batch, high-precision, high-speed mixing processes, with high mixing uniformity and efficiency, and suitable for occasions with high mixing quality requirements.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance

Horizontal Ribbon Mixer : Due to its relatively simple structure, cleaning and maintenance are relatively easy.

Conical Ribbon Mixer : Due to its complex structure, cleaning and maintenance may be relatively difficult and require more time and energy.
