Kneader Mixer Working Principle
Nov 04,2023 JCT
Kneader Mixer, also called Sigma Mixer, is an industrial machine used for mixing, kneading, and blending materials, especially high-viscosity and highly cohesive substances. The working principle of a kneader mixer involves a unique design that ensures thorough and efficient mixing.
What is kneader mixer working principle?
• Mixing chamber
A kneader mixer has a horizontally oriented mixing chamber, usually in the form of a trough or cylinder, for mixing and kneading materials. Mixing chambers often use jackets to control the temperature.
• Rotating blade
There are two counter-rotating blades inside the mixing chamber, usually Σ-shaped. One blade rotates at a different speed and in the opposite direction to the other blade, thereby generating shearing force and causing the material to knead and disperse.
• Discharge
Discharging methods generally include: hydraulic cylinder discharging, ribbon extrusion, and lower discharging. Different discharging methods are selected according to the viscosity and other characteristics of the mixed material.
