Solutions to common failures of reactors

Reactors are widely used in chemical production. The following common faults will be encountered during use. We list the corresponding reasons and solutions.

The first common failure phenomenon is damage to the shell, including corrosion of the reactor shell, cracks of the reactor shell, and through holes of the reactor shell. There are several reasons for the damage of the reactor shell as follows:

1. By medium radiation. The solution is that the shell lined with corrosion-resistant material needs to be relined or partially repaired.

2. Thermal stress causes cracks. The solution is to eliminate thermal stress after welding and repair cracks.

3. Wear thinning or uniform corrosion. The solution is to exceed the design low allowable thickness and need to replace the body.

The second common fault phenomenon is over-temperature and over-pressure. The reasons for the over-temperature and over-pressure of the reactor are as follows:

1. The instrument fails and the control is not strict. The solution is to check and repair the automatic control system and strictly implement the operating procedures.

2. Wrong operation; improper ratio of raw materials; violent reaction. The solution is to take emergency pressure relief according to the operation method, and feed materials regularly and quantitatively according to the regulations to prevent wrong operations.

3. Side reactions occur due to poor heat transfer or stirring performance. The solution is to increase the heat transfer area or remove the scale, improve the heat transfer effect, repair the agitator, and improve the stirring efficiency.

The intake valve fails and the intake pressure is too large and the pressure is high. The solution is to close the main steam valve and cut off the steam to repair the valve.
