1. You can use the nose to smell. If the silicone product is close to the nose, smell it carefully. If it produces a pungent odor, it is ordinary industrial silicone. Ordinary industrial silica gel is usually added with excessive silica powder, while food-grade silica gel is produced with an odorless vulcanizing agent, which is safe and environmentally friendly, non-toxic and tasteless.
2. It can be boiled in boiling water. Put the silica gel product into boiling water and boil. If it does not turn white or change color, it is food-grade silica gel.
3. Baking in an oven, ordinary silica gel is generally only 150℃-200℃ resistant to high temperature, while food grade silica gel can withstand high temperature 200℃-230℃, and it will not turn yellow and zoom through high temperature baking.
4. Silicone raw material manufacturers are required to provide relevant food-grade testing and certification. At present, the internationally used food-grade testing and certification include FDA, LFGB, ROHS and other related certifications.
