What is PVC additives?

PVC additives are auxiliary additives used in the production process of PVC products. The purpose is to improve the performance, processing technology and appearance of PVC products. These additives are usually added to PVC resin in the form of additives to adjust its properties and improve processing techniques.

Function of PVC Additives

1. Improved Stability

PVC is susceptible to thermal oxidation, light, thermal degradation and other factors. The addition of stabilizers can prevent or slow down the thermal oxidative degradation reaction of PVC, extend the service life of PVC products, and improve the stability of PVC products.

2. Plasticization Modification

PVC is a hard plastic. The addition of plasticizer can improve the softness and processability of PVC, making it easier for PVC resin molecules to slide between each other, thereby increasing the softness and plasticity of PVC products and improving processing performance.

3. Increased Strength

The addition of fillers can increase the hardness, strength and wear resistance of PVC products and reduce costs. Fillers can fill the gaps between PVC resins, increase the density and strength of PVC products, and improve the mechaniical properties and wear resistance of the products.

4. Lubrication and Friction Reduction

Lubricants can reduce the friction between PVC resins, reducing energy consumption and equipment wear during the production process.

Common Types of PVC Additives

The function of stabilizers is to prevent or slow down the thermal oxidative degradation reaction of PVC and extend the service life of PVC products.

2. Plasticizer

Plasticizers can be compatible with PVC resin, reduce the mutual attraction between PVC molecules, and make it easier for PVC resin molecules to slide between each other, thus improving the softness and processability of PVC products.

3. Filler

Filler is used to increase the hardness, strength and wear resistance of PVC products and reduce costs.

4. Lubricant

Lubricant is used to reduce the adhesion and friction of PVC resin during processing and improve the processing efficiency and surface smoothness of PVC products.

5. Pigments and Fillers
